Well, we have all seen the kid on one knee with the ball beside a million times, but how do you make that photo different? I decided to go with the 'overpower the ambient' technique. I did this test shot on my son in our back yard, and ended up shooting the whole team this way at the next game. The unique perspective makes the player look that much more powerful, and the 2 flashes I had ponded out the daylight so I could get a rich underexposed sky and a small starburst from the sun with my F13 apature. The light falloff keeps the image tight and contrasty. I like it!
