Here are a couple of the most recent family shots this year. edmonton family photographer, wedding photographer, commercial photography, event photography, portrait, wedding photography cancun

Cameron open house

Well, I have to say I was treated to some delicious food last week at the open house for Cameron Canada. Those guys really know how to put on a spread. The Cameron gang were all very friendly and all the guests had a good time. Here are some of the images I created for them.

Mock Cover Shot

Our friends are hosting a "Rockbandapalooza" (play Rock Band on the Wii party) at their place in a couple weeks, so I decided to make up this mock Rolling Stone cover to email back with our RSVP. What else would you do at 11pm on a Thursday night? Mary and I went out and bought some props to wear for the party. I got the hat, skull dog tag, and stud bracelet. She got some mesh gloves and big star earrings. I will probably try to shoot another "cover" with Mary as the subject before the party. I'll post it too if I do. Oh yeah, BTW, Mary Jane is my wifes name, not what you were thinking! "Johnny Ace" is going to be my stage name.

The wrap up

Well, I shot the last wedding of 2008 this past Saturday. The bride is also a photographer, (talk about pressure), so I really wanted to impress. As usual, everything went smoothly (sarcasm here), and I was the rock in times of chaos. Fortunately things that stress brides out, like the MOH pulling the plug the day before the wedding, don't stress me out, so it is easy for me to calm others. I also tend to be experienced, so when none of the groomsmen can get their flowers on, I can, and prepared, so when the groom steps on the bustled dress ripping the fasteners off, I can stitch and pin it back in place. Fortunately, they were all very impressed with my ability, personality, & willingness to do whatever it takes to get the shot, and graciously gave me an additional tip. (Many thanks) Here are a couple of my favorites from the day.

Now, with all the weddings shot, I am trying to get all the albums ordered for everyone still outstanding. Surprisingly, this is not as easy as it sounds. Timely feedback from the bride and groom regarding revisions is not always possible, thus postponing the ordering. I have 11 main albums I just ordered, and 18 parent albums that cover most of the outstanding weddings this year.
I guess the nice thing about doing them all at once is that you really get into the groove for uploading and ordering. Looks like everyone should get their books by Halloween.

Bling n Swing

I had the pleasure of shooting the Michael Anthony Bling & Swing Golf golf tournament and fundraiser for CASA on Friday. The Tournament was held at Blackhawk Golf Course, and if you are forunate enough to be a member, or maybe you went last year before the course turned private, you would know how amazing this course is. Although the day started out a bit brisk, and had a skiff of rain, the weather turned out pretty good, and a fun time was had by all. Masters Champion Craig Stadler was on the course and gave a clinic in the morning before heading out on the course and golfing with some of the teams. Our own MP Rahim Jaffer was on site as well and giving his support for CASA.
Also in the house were many of the city's finest businessmen, all in support of CASA, which is a chairity dealing with child, adolecent, and family mental health issues. The event raised over $200,000 towards CASA. Special thanks to Reg Shah from Michael Anthony Jewellers for hosting the event, and Mo from La-Z-Boy who stepped up in a big way.

Latest album

I shot Chris and Chunfen's wedding about 3 weeks ago, and here are the layouts for their albums. These are double page spreads for the Trident Exclusive Storybook Album. They are leather coffee table books which are absolutely stunning, and a great way to preserve the memories of this day for years to come. And when filled with amazing content like this, even more so.
